Many ask, "Which test should I take?", our answer in short,  "Both", but if you had to choose one, determine if your current state of residence is a SAT or ACT state, then choose that test to take. For example, currently, Michigan is an SAT state. Many public colleges and universities in the state of Michigan prefer SAT scores on college applications. The high schools in Michigan will only offer the SAT test as a mandatory test to take while in school. The ACT will be offered to students in Michigan as an optional test to take. If you are looking to go to college outside of your state of residence, check if the college and/or university is in a state that prefer the SAT or ACT test scores. In this case, it is important to take both tests.
